About

Dr. Vanessa N. Robinson, DrPH, MPH

Dr. Vanessa Robinson, DrPH, MPH, is a public health strategy consultant, researcher, and educator dedicated to advancing maternal health and nutrition equity. Her career centers on identifying gaps, designing sustainable solutions, and helping organizations translate vision into measurable outcomes.

As Chief Report Editor and Lead Technical Writer of the Special Commission Report on Racial Inequities in Maternal Health for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Dr. Robinson helped develop recommendations that became the foundation for the 2024 Momnibus Bill, a landmark law expanding access to midwifery care and out-of-hospital birth options. This work solidified her commitment to building systems that place community needs at the center of health policy and practice.

Beyond policy, her work includes co-leading the groundbreaking Delta GREENS Food is Medicine Study, investigating the family planning challenges of Black LGBTQ+ individuals through the Black Rainbow Justice Initiative Study, and advising Birth By Us, a nationally used app supporting people of color from pregnancy through postpartum. She also teaches and mentors the next generation of public health leaders as an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Across each role, Dr. Robinson is guided by the belief that equity must be built into the very framework of our systems. Her goal is to partner with organizations, students, and communities to create lasting solutions and ensure that every mom, every family, and every community has the opportunity to thrive.
